Luca is doing great, he rolled over once on the day he was 12 weeks but now he has not done it again. He is trying hard though (see pic). He is smiling and starting to giggle out loud. Luca has realized that he has hands and feet now but his favorite thing is the ceiling fan. His reflux is much better and he is a great sleeper now. Still up for the 3 or 4 am feeding and then 7 am which is way better than the waking up every two hours all night.
I knew I was not going to get any sleep at first but it was exhausting and the hormones are crazy, it got much better after 6-8 weeks tho. As soon as I was able to get 4 hours of sleep in a row things were better and the meds for reflux. I give a lot of credit to parents who have twins or multiples, two sets were born the week I was in the hospital and the moms were breastfeeding, I can't even imagine. It would be never ending nursing at first. Someone told me a newborns stomach is the size of a walnut and that is all the food they can take in at once, two babies would be refilling that walnut right after the other!
He has outgrown all of his 0-3 month clothes already. He fit in them at the beginning of the week and then by the end of the week they were all too tight! It is amazing how fast babies grow, I look at the 9 month clothes and I can't imagine him being that big but before I know it he will be.
It is really hard to leave him and go back to work. Of course he was just fine without me; dad and grandma had a great time with him. I am so blessed I do not have to wake him up and drag him to daycare every day. He gets to sleep in his own crib and stay in the environment he knows. It gets tricky with Rob's schedule between the two jobs but hopefully we can continue to make it work.
I am so thankful to have a healthy baby, all the blood testing, careful eating and constant calling to my nurse was all worth it. It is nice to be able to eat pizza and cheat a little again. Rob bought me some target sushi right after we got home from the hospital and it was good- yummy philly rolls! And thai food!
