VACATION!

We all went to a petting Zoo, they had farm animals, bears, a mountain lion, and reindeer. Luca loved the baby goats but the other ones were about his size and aggressive about getting food from the visitors.

Bummed to only get two sunny days at the beach but they were wonderful days.

A week out East! Rob rented a motorcycle and we rode for fourteen hours. The ride up the coast was sunny but the white mountains were rainy and VERY chilly. Grandma watched Luca ad he kept her busy. He started walking non-stop while we were out there.

1st Birthday (already!)

Luca loved his cake. He ate the whole piece as soon as we put in front of him. He got washed off in the kiddie pool after. Lot's of people came for the party and he loved it. Great time though we were missing the family who could not make it. Rob's brother Matt came for a bit so he was spoiled by the Uncles all afternoon!

Spring is finally here!

It has been so nice to finally get out of the house lately. Luca loves to go outside and giong ot the park. All the steps on the equipment has encouraged him to take on our steps at home. He is a busy boy who wants to walk and stand on his won. I am really looking forward to having some time off with him this summer. Rob continues to work really hard and I think having me at home will help take the load off. We are very thankful to continue to have jobs though.
Tyler was born and I am so excited to meet him, hopefully this summer. Luca's second-cousin!

AHhhhh the brink of toddlerhood!

As you can see life is getting busier with our little Luca bear, he has begun pulling up, or trying to, on everything. The outlets are covered and the cupboards are being baby proofed. He is not quite crawling but can go backwards on all fours! He wakes up at 3 or 4 in the morning and can get on all fours to keep himself awake and screams! He is happy as a clam most of the day. He pushed up from his tummy to sitting a few times in the last few days and has definitely found his voice and you can hear it where ever you are in the house! Luca is doing great and we get a kick out of something he does everyday, love his giggle.
I keep trying to post a picture of all three of us but we have opposite schedules and Shop NBC and Fox 9 keep Rob busy so we will have to work on that. Oh I hear screaming. . . nap time is over. . . . write more soon I hope!

nothing new. . . .

Our little Luca "bear" is growing up- he got his first tooth! I have yet to get a good picture. He will barely even let me see it! He is rolling everywhere and wants to stand all the time, no interest in crawling yet.
He loves pushing the ball back and forth, and rolling in our stack of papers to shred- who knew paper could be so fun!
Ready for some warmer weather and spring, today is nice but more snow in the forecast. I am looking forward to spring break in a few weeks, Rob took a few days so we can spend some time together as a family that week. Not much new to write about except our little guy!

Can't believe we are about to hit the 7 month mark. Luca is sitting up- still taking a few spills though that always end in tears. Still working on trying to sleep through the night. Last night at 12:00am I was reading my "sleep book for healthy kids" as he screamed from his crib- cold turkey is best for losing the pacifier and the like so kids learn how to put themselves to sleep. I am beginning to think it would just be easier to keep returning the pacifier to his mouth every couple hours like I have been then to listen to him cry for three times longer every couple of hours. Hopefully tonight will be better. . . . grandma sleeps in there on the futon tonight. . . . Of course he woke up happy this morning and I ran for the coffee I now have to have every morning and never drank before. Every time camera comes out Luca now smiles and reaches, cell phone also. I guess that means we have taken plenty of pictures. . . . see above :-)
Rob continues to work his crazy schedule and we get more news on the fate of his ShopNBC company this week. I guess Kare 11 news is making people take a week of unpaid vacation, we hope this does not happen at Fox 9.
I had to stay home on Tuesday and got to see the inauguration because mom and I had an eventful night before. It included; a Cuisinart blender stick, a trip to ER, 5 stitches, Grandma's secret ingredient in 'bloody banana bread', antibiotics, and 4 1/2 hours of waiting for the right kit to sew up the finger. So, I had nobody to watch Luca Tuesday while grandma healed and got to see all the events in Washington on my TV. Mom and I both teared up (I knew she had democrat somewhere in there- but since you are one of the only people who reads my blog mom I won't tease you too much). It was very moving and I pray that our country starts moving in the right direction now. . . I worry it is too much for one man to take on by himself, it does take all branches of government to make it work. I hope Americans start to take control back by keeping politicians accountable and Washington less of an island where everyone makes lots of money off those things called "US citizens backs" I mean who really knows what those are anyway. . . . . . .
That little smiling face I get to see when I get home makes it all worth it though. . . . ..
