Ocean and happy new year!

Luca's first trip to the ocean up the coast to Maine. He loved looking at the waves. The weather has been 40-50 degrees and sunny. I have been tempted to go for a run, it feels like spring compared to MN.
Nor'easter came in today and dumped about 3 inches in 4 hours on New Years Eve but we made it out for dinner with the Sullivan Grandparents. Luca has outgrown a pair of pajamas during the week-crazy how fast they grow!
We celebrated New Year's by watching movies and relaxing at the parent's new crib :-) Tomorrow is the seafood feast of lobster, steamers, and scallops. As a MN girl I never imagined I would love a seafood dinner but I look forward to it all year, but it marks the end of our trip so that is a bummer.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Grandparents!

Getting lots of attention and a booty of gifts out east for Christmas. The plane ride was not that bad, Luca slept the whole flight from Atlanta to Boston. Lots of babies flying on both flights. It was raining today so it is nice and warm here, 50 degrees! They had no power for a week here due to the ice storms but now everything is okay- still branches around but that is it. Each side of the family is driving to see Luca from Rhode Island today and tomorrow- lots of lasagna! Rob's parents are in a new place is nice and they were are all set for us with a pack and play and everything.

Merry Christmas

Luca's first Christmas and first plane ride tomorrow. Hopefully people will be patient on the plane. . . . . . off to New England. Rob's parents haven't seen Luca since the week he was born so it will be fun for them to see all the changes that have happened in the last few months. I have a renewed Christmas spirit this year and joy for spending time with family. Luca has really bonded with my parents, since they have both helped me out while I am at work. He smiles every time he sees Gram O and it is so fun to be with family this time of year and share our little man. . . . . Hope you all have Merry Christmas!

Luca's big day

Baptism pictures from last weekend for Luca. I was nervous he would cry the whole time b/c he refused to eat before we left but he was fine. He even made the congregation laugh while we were up there.
It was a really nice way to focus on Luca and make a promise about how we are going to raise him. Rob got a lot of meaning from the words they used about the water and it made it very special for our family. We missed Rob's parents being there but videotaped so they get to see it. Had to schedule at the last minute when we knew Rob had a day off.
He is crying now. . .up from his nap. . . . . I don't think 20 minutes counts as a nap? I thought babies and toddlers slept during the day? They only go to sleep long enough to make you think you have time to do a few things . . . . . but this is not the case :-)

Happy Thanksgiving

Luca's first thanksgiving, not a lot of napping but he was a hit with the family! I can't believe how fast he is growing and learning. He is starting to sit on his own- just for a few seconds at a time now. He is showing interest in other babies when we visit with friends and starting to learn how to activate all those battery operated toys.
Thanksgiving weekend went by way too fast but Rob had four days off from both jobs so it was really nice to spend some time as a family. We used most of the weekend to catch up on projects and clean up but it that is the way it goes in our busy household. We didn't quite get to the Christmas tree but when we do I know Luca will love all the lights and sparkles.
